tekeciParticipantHello. I need add description at the bottom of the category pages. I can add top of the category pages but I can’t add bottom. It does not appear when I write something in the area I specified in the screenshot.

You can add this text to the category description in Products > Categories > Select > Edit you will find the Description field. Then set showing the description under the product grid in the Theme Settings > Product Archive https://gyazo.com/24a7f1058eb070249d8716727f2ebffa

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHi,
I have added a description in the bags category. It is shown before the product grid but not changed in the after product grid.
Please update the new version of theme “WOODMART WORDPRESS NEW: 7.1.4 RELEASED”
If the issue remains Please deactivate all the 3rd party plugins and activate only theme-required plugins on the site and then check the issue.Best Regards.

tekeciParticipantSo? Why is the category description not showing at the bottom of the page? I just want to remind you that this is the reason why I opened this ticket.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHi,
The Single Product page layout comes from the WooCommerce end, so if you haven’t made any Custom Layouts then the Theme Settings options related to that will work accordingly.
But you have made the Custom Single Product layout under the Dashboard > Layouts in this case, Theme Settings options will not work then the settings and options defined under the Custom Product Layout will take precedence and the Theme Settings options will not work.
Best Regards.

tekeciParticipantI couldn’t understand what this issue has to do with single product page. I want to add description to category page.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHi,
Actually, under the Dashboard > Layouts > you had multiple Layouts created for the Archive page due to which the Theme Settings options weren’t taking effect because if the Layouts are created and enabled then they take priority. So, right now we have disabled the Archive related Layouts on your Site and now the Theme Settings option works accordingly now on your Site.

denitsa_gParticipantHello,
I’m also having an issue of this matter, but I’ve fully understood what you are saying. However, I want to add description for a specific category without disabling my layout of the category for my convenience. Is this possible in any way without getting that description deleted (if there is code involved) with a theme or wp update. Thanks.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Please navigate to Products > Categories >
[Select Your Category]
> Edit and add your text in the Description field. The description will display for that specific category, and you can simply leave the field empty for categories where you don’t want it to appear.
Also, make sure you’ve added the Category Description widget inside your layout so the text can be displayed correctly.
Best Regards,
