d_chParticipantHi,
Is it possible to have a multicolor icon as color preview for value of a term of my COLOR attribute? I already use this attribute as the one that will be shown on products grid but I am not able to use more than 1 colors for a value (for example a product which has by default two colors, not two separate color values). Can I maybe achieve this via custom icon? In that case, which should be the correct dimension for it in order to be appeared with the same dimension as the default circle color values on products grid & products pages?
Thank you in advance,

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Unfortunately, you couldn’t select multi color swatches attributes for variable products on the product grids. Because its WooCommerce functionality and our theme doesn’t influence this.
It requires customization and this is beyond our limitations and support policy.
Best Regards.

d_chParticipantAnd what if I have a product which is white/black coloured? It won’t be correct to set only one of the two colors for it because it combines both by default. What about “Image preview for this value” option of your theme? Isn’t this option related with this (to use custom image for a specific color combination)?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
As I mentioned in my previous reply. You couldn’t select two variation colors at once because its woocommerce functionality and our theme doesn’t influence this. We could not help you with this because it is out of our scope.
You can try contacting woocommerce plugin support for this.
OR
You can try adding any third party plugin that better meets your requirements.
Best Regards.

d_chParticipantI don’t wish to select two variation colors at once. I just want to have a colored icon with two colors which will be one variation color, not two. For example a product which is white/black. I am not sure if you are getting my point.

d_chParticipantFor example check this reference shop page which uses different images to show the different color patterns of a product:
https://www.stradivarius.com/gr/en/new-collection/clothing/shop-by…/floral-c1020207522.html (category page)

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
I have visited the links you provided and saw the screenshots you attached. Unfortunately, you could not add the multicolored icons for color swatches because the swatches icons are created with the color used for the color swatch and we couldn’t override it. Because, its WooCommerce functionality and our theme doesn’t influence this.
Best Regards.

d_chParticipantOk I understand.
So what about “Image preview for this value” option which you offer via terms options? Which is its purpose?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
I saw the screenshots you attached. The images previews are used to display images rather than a multi-color swatch. You need to create multi-colored images to use them if you want to use them for swatches. It will display images rather than colors on the product grid.
Best Regards.
March 4, 2020 at 2:09 pm #177882
d_chParticipantAnd which is the recommended size you think for these images which will be used for swatches?
March 4, 2020 at 2:38 pm #177886
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
You can use images of 50×50 pixels for that.
Best Regards.

d_chParticipantI tested it and it works perfect! I replaced a blue coloured term with an alternative pattern image and it was appeared normally at product grid along with the other coloured terms. So finally your theme supports indeed both color or image for values of my Color attribute as I asked you above :-).
