marketing-3503ParticipantHi there, I hope you are well.
I am having issues with variable products. When the product is marked as “Allow Backorders” OR “Allow Backorders – Notify Customer” the variable product still shows as “In Stock” which is not correct.
If I choose a variation that is on backorder it should not show “In Stock”. It should show my custom message that shows on simple products when they are on backorder. I don’t mind if a customer can still add to cart BUT stock information must be correct and not say “In Stock” if not.
Thanks.

Luke NielsenMemberHello,
Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like WooCommerce Storefront to understand if it is our theme issue or not?
Kind Regards.

marketing-3503ParticipantHi Yes, I had another theme on this and it was showing backorder/out of stock just fine.
I can try again. Will I lose any data if I switch themes? Like CSS etc? But as I said, I had another theme on this site and it was working perfectly fine.

Luke NielsenMemberHello,
You will not lose your custom code if you just switch the theme via Appearance -> Themes. If on the default theme it works well, confirm the permission for plugins deactivation, and switching to the parent/default theme. As soon as we complete the testing we will enable it all back.
Kind Regards

marketing-3503ParticipantHi Luke, I switched to basic theme, and it shows stock status as it should. When product is on backorder, my custom message is showing. It is not showing “in stock”. I attached the screenshot.
I have left it with the default theme, you are welcome to do your testing today and let me know how it goes.
Thank you,
