tcdevParticipantHi team,
I think i found a bug in the woodmart theme. When trying to filter out specific categories in “Exclude categories” under “Page title” menu sometimes it hides all the categories (Except the default) from the main page.
Here is how you can reproduce: create product categories in Woocommerce. Then add few categories to the “Exclude categories” list. Save everything, then remove the last category from the “Exclude categories” list and save. If you refresh the Shop page you see that all categories except the first has disappeared.
Can you fix this issue? thank you in advance

tcdevParticipantIt seems its triggered by any category being moved, removed or renamed and if products are added or removed.
To get all categories back to the shop page sometimes installing a “patch” helps (maybe it reinitalizes something in the plugin?).

tcdevParticipant… or just enabling disabling the “Show current category ancestors” option eventually fixes the problem

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Great, glad that the “Show current category ancestors” fixes that issue.
Let me know if such a solution suits you.
Kind Regards

tcdevParticipantthis solution not really fits for our business, we are changing the categories quite often so it is not an option to switch on and off every time. Please fix this in the plugin, thanks.

Luke NielsenKeymasterIn this case, please send me access to the admin panel so I can investigate it.
Thank you in advance.

tcdevParticipantok, i sent you the login information below.
My only question would be PLEASE ASK US EVERY TIME BEFORE DOING DISRUPTIVE CHANGE ON THE SITE.
This is a production site and lot of money is going through. Here is how you can reproduce the issue:
1. First of all go to https://singularitycomputers.com/shop/ and check if 6 categories can be seen.
2. Next, go to Theme settings -> Product archive -> Page title and remove the EOL Products from Exclude categories and click Save.
3. Go to Categories and add a new dummy category like “Test category”, click save.
4. Now check https://singularitycomputers.com/shop/ and you can see that the categories disappeared.
5. Now if you delete the previously created category, the problem will still exist, only few or no categories on the https://singularitycomputers.com/shop/ page.
6. Then if you go to Theme settings -> Product archive and set Show current category ancestors to YES, it will solve the problem, you can check it by https://singularitycomputers.com/shop/.So this means something is going on either with Exclude categories or with all the Product archive options. Please fix it as we do not want everytime to switch on and off random things in the plugin to get the categories work. Thank you so much!
Thanks.

tcdevParticipantIn addition to the step 6. above:
7. If you go to Theme settings -> Product archive and set Show products count for each category
to NO, then back to yes, it will also solve the problem, you can check it by https://singularitycomputers.com/shop/.June 16, 2025 at 12:25 pm #667632
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
After adding the test category, other categories are still showing – https://prnt.sc/789ZkQh8dWRF
Could you please make a video from your end? Also, please copy the site and move it to the staging platform so I can make tests there.
Kind Regards

tcdevParticipanthi,
as you can see now it is disappeared. Maybe your browser cached the site.

Luke NielsenKeymasterOkay, you meant the categories on the grid. May I disable the 3rd party plugins and enable the parent/default theme for testing? It will be better if you send access to the staging site so the live site will not be affected.
Kind Regards

tcdevParticipantHi, okay here are the login details to our stage site.
thanks!
June 17, 2025 at 3:07 pm #667958
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
I did the same manipulation on the staging site and there is no such issue. Could you please check it on the stage site and let me know?
Kind Regards
June 18, 2025 at 11:16 pm #668297
tcdevParticipantOk now i can’t reproduce it neither on stage nor in production site. Have you change anything on the production? Because i cloned the stage from prod.

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
I did not change the settings on the production site.
Yep, it’s weird. Did you update any plugins and clear the server cache?
Let me know if that issue happens again. Thank you for your time.
Kind Regards
