Are Lots of Product Layouts Bad?

I run a website with over 600 products – I currently have 40 different product page layouts, but I’m wondering if having lots of product page layouts is bad for my site?

Say I had 100 different product page layouts, would this negatively affect my site’s speed, etc.?
