Best sellers sorted through Variations

Hi there,

I’ve got a question regarding the sorting on my website. How can i sort variations (that show up as single products on /shop/ and category pages) by best-sellers?

I already went to Appearance -> Woocommerce -> Sort by popularity, but that only goes for individual product and not for variations.

Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand whether it is our theme issue?
