laszlo.fesusParticipantHi!
Very similar issue I have since the recent updates (Hitek theme update, Woocommerce update) like in the WoodMart support forum opened by IanB: https://xtemos.com/forums/topic/brand-attribute-links-not-working/The suggested solution was:
The issue for anyone else asking for advice, so you get a fast solution is below.
With the latest woocommerce updates it adds the ability to add product brands, it adds the “brand” term into the url slug, thich is also used by the woodmart brand slug as default. This causes brand links to not work. Go into your settings within wordpress and change the structure of the brands in woocommerce to another name. All resolved..I just wanted to ask IanB to be a bit more specific on his advice:
“Go into your settings within wordpress and change the structure of the brands in woocommerce to another name. ”
I would like to set this up, but I can’t find the structure of the brands in woocommerce. Where can I find it?January 13, 2025 at 3:12 pm #629284
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Please disable Brands in Theme Settings (https://prnt.sc/lxCneHaCtCi8) and let me know the result (in this case the permalinks for the product brands from WooCommerce should work).
Kind Regards

laszlo.fesusParticipantThank you Luke!
If I disable Brands in Theme Settings, then I get the following error once I hover over the brands menu (which is a HTML block / Mega menu brands / “Product brands” elementor widget):To display brands list you need to create product attribute first. Go to Dashboard -> Products -> Attribute -> create new for your product brands. Then go to Theme Settings -> Shop -> Brands and set the newly created attribute. Be sure that you have added some brands to that attribute also.

laszlo.fesusParticipantSorry, I cant’ give you access for technical reasons.
I restored the prev. template pack and the issue disappeared. So it is related the latest Hitek template update, I have version 1.6.0 installed which works fine. Update to 1.7.0. causing this issue.
The Mega menu brands / Product brands widget’s links changing from the current
…/brand/dell/ to
…&filter_brand=dellJanuary 14, 2025 at 11:08 am #629524
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Yes …/brand/dell/ to …&filter_brand=dell the links for brands in the new version have changed, because …/brand/dell/ uses brands from WooCommerce, try to change the permalinks in Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks -> change permalinks to Plain.
Kind Regards

laszlo.fesusParticipantDashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks -> change permalinks to Plain
I think this is not an option since all URLs must to be unchanged, remain the same.January 14, 2025 at 5:24 pm #629699
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,

laszlo.fesusParticipantGreat job!
This patch just solved the issue, the brand links work well again!
Thank you Luke, I appreciate it!Just last question, what’s going to happen upon the next Hitek/Space template update?
Do I need a new patch again?January 15, 2025 at 10:11 am #629825
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
You do not need a new patch as this one will be available by default.
Thank you for your time.

laszlo.fesusParticipantUnfortunately the issue showed up again after the today’s plugin updates: Elementor, Elementor Pro and Woocommerce. Now the brand links run to 404 pages.

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Define the code in the functions.php file in your child theme:
add_action( 'init', function() { update_option( 'wc_feature_woocommerce_brands_enabled', 'no' ); } );
Clear the cache and check how it works.
Kind Regards
January 24, 2025 at 1:30 pm #632443
laszlo.fesusParticipantThank you! I did, entered the code. (To the main functions.php, I don’t use the child theme.)
Now the brand links no not direct to 404, but redirect to the homepage.
So a bit better, but the brand links still don’t work.January 24, 2025 at 1:41 pm #632446
laszlo.fesusParticipantUpdate!
Based on this Woocommerce Brand Update I went to Settings > Permalinks tab and clicked on ‘Save changes’, without changing anything, it solved the issue.
Now the Brand links working again.
