Can a background opacity be added on the menu hover, to add more focus ?

I am currently developing a site and I saw that it is possible to add a mega menu. So I would like if there is any setting that adds a background layer to the rest of the site, in order to make the user focus more on the menu, and avoid the menu being blended with the rest of the site.
Something like the background layer, when I open the cart from the side.
