can I add attribute only for filtering perpose

okay, I have a question. I want to filter my products by attribute but this attribute is not for variation; only for filtering purposes. such as gender. we want to add an attribute as Gender to filter products. is it possible by any means? can you help us please?

Yes, that is possible. You crate attributes, then create attribute items and assign them to the products. Then add the filters to the Appearance > Widgets > Shop page widget area: https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/shortcodes-2/
