1. This is Woocommerce functionality and our theme does not influence it or cannot change.
2. You need to configure new attributes as swatches as per your needs:
Images shown in swatches can be taken either by product variation or attribute item settings.
Product variation image in swatches requires the following steps:
Enable “Use images from product variations” in the Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products;
Upload the image to the product variation in the product page > Variation (in the product date block) > select the appropriate variant and set the main image.
Remove the color from the attribute item in Product > Attributes > Select the attribute > Configure items > Select the attribute item, set the image, and remove the color.
Global image (an image that is set for an attribute item) in the swatch on the product page:
Disable “Use images from product variations” in the Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products;
Upload the image to the product variation in the product page > Variation (in the product date block) > select the appropriate variant and set the main image.
Remove the color from the attribute item in Product > Attributes > Select the attribute > Configure items > Select the attribute item, set the image, and remove the color.
To show color on the swatch image:
Disable “Use images from product variations” in the Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products;
Upload the image to the product variation in the product page > Variation (in the product date block) > select the appropriate variant and set the main image.
Upload color to the attribute item in Product > Attributes > Select the attribute > Configure items > Select the attribute item, set the image, and remove the color.
