Can I use waitlist on virtual subscription products?

Hey guys,

I’m trying to setup waitlist, I have mostly virtual subscription (digital) products, and I often set them out-of-stock until they’re ready, to increase demand. Waitlist seemed like a perfect way to let users get notified when the products they want are in stock.

I just checked email templates though, and noticed that there are (disabled by default) emails which can be sent to a user when an item in their wishlist goes back in stock.

In this case, I’m confused re whether I should be using waitlists or watchlists?

And can I get waitlist functionality on virtual, subscription products?
