katjavandersteen.comParticipantI am trying to exclude the project from portfolio, but it is still showing. I tried with both include and exclude and with exclude only.

You are using Layout conditions, which control where the layout is applied (e.g., portfolio archive pages), not which individual projects are displayed.
The options like Include/Exclude Portfolio Categories only affect the layout visibility, not the actual portfolio items shown on the page.
To exclude a project from the portfolio page, please edit your Portfolio layout and configure the query in the widget settings.
You can define which categories to display, and only projects from those selected categories will be shown. This way, any project outside those categories will be excluded automatically.

katjavandersteen.comParticipantHi Aizaz, so is it possible to have several portfolios with different projects in it on a webpage ? Or only 1 portfolio?
Thank you,
KatjaApril 21, 2026 at 3:32 pm #716576Hello,
Assign different portfolio categories to your projects (e.g., “Web Design”, “Branding”, “Photography”).
Then, on your page, add multiple Portfolio/Grid widgets. For each widget, configure the query settings to show only specific categories.
This way, each section on your page can display a different set of projects.

katjavandersteen.comParticipantHi Aizaz, i think i figured it out, thanks for help. One thing is not working though. When i assign portfolio per id category to display only some of the projects, and then i show categories – Yes, it shows categories of all projects, not only the ones i chose for the portfolio.
Could you please advise how to adjust?
thanks!

When you use “Include/Exclude by ID”, it filters only the projects (posts), not the categories (terms).
So when “Show categories” is enabled, the widget still displays all portfolio categories, not just the ones related to the selected projects.
