Can’t switch between variations of the same subscription product

Hey guys,
Edge case here. Using WooCommerce Subscriptions, with the option for users to switch subscriptions between product groups and product variations. Subscription products are limited to 1, to avoid users abusing trial periods. I’ve got an issue where, if a user has a subscription to a variable subscription product, and attempts to “switch subscription” to another variation of that same product, they can’t. This functionality **should** work, and in fact it **does** work on the Twenty Twenty-Four theme, with the same configuration.
(This was the conclusion of my support ticket to the Woo.com engineers)

You switched from zurgling to starter though.. try switching from starter to another variation of starter?

Apologies for not being clear. I’ve recorded the same user activity (attempting to switch between variations of the same subscription product) with woodmart and twentytwentyfor. The only change I made between the two recordings was switching the theme.
You’ll note that not only doesn’t the store with woodmart allow purchasing the same subscription with a different variation, but it also doesn’t display the variation-specific product details.
We’ve seen this before under a different fault, where the nonce value was removed from the URL due to a rogue regex redirect, but that’s not the case this time! 🙂

Aah, that’s happening because the subscription is a 3-month prepaid (woocommerce doesn’t allow subscription-switching on prepaid subs).
Try the user “barrypotter” instead, he’s got a standard, monthly subscription.

This issue is caused by third-party plugins that optimize JS files responsible for handling the variation selection. So, please disable all third-party plugins and double check.
