Can’t Update Theme

I’ve had the WoodMart theme on my WordPress Woocommerce site for a year now, it suddenly refused to update.
The error ‘Update failed: Download failed. Unauthorized’. I assumed a year must have been up for support and i was no longer getting updates, so I purchased a new key. I have swapped over to the new key, however it still shows this same error. I tried uploading the new theme manually but I get this error ‘The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme installation failed.’

The “Download failed. Unauthorized” message usually means the theme license isn’t properly active on the current site or is still tied to another domain.

Please try these steps:
– Go to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License.
– If it is active, click Deactivate.
– Go to Dashboard -> Updates and click Check Again.
– Return to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License and Activate with your purchase code.
– Then go to Appearance -> Themes or Dashboard -> Updates and run the theme update.

If the issue persists, please share a screenshot of Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License and the exact update error after the steps above, and we’ll guide you further.

This doesn’t work as you say. I deactivated the code, checked for updates and went back to the theme license, it wasn’t deactivated. I did this several times in the same tab with the same outcome, no errors, it just won’t allow the theme to run without a key and forces the key to still be active even after being deactivated.

As we can see, the theme is still activated. Note that if you can’t deactivate it then you have a nulled version of the theme installed. In this case, you need to download our theme from ThemeForest and reinstall it completely.

That doesn’t work either, see the error in the screenshot.

That fixed the problem, the new theme is installed and updated with the new key.
