I’m experiencing an issue with how categories are displayed on the shop and category pages.
On the main shop page, the theme displays top-level categories along with the total product count, including products from their subcategories — even if the main category itself doesn’t have any direct products. This is exactly the behavior I expect.
However, when I visit a category page, any subcategory that has no direct products but does have its own subcategories containing products does not appear in the category header or category list.
In other words, categories that have products only through nested subcategories are currently being hidden, even though they technically contain products when all children are considered.
This issue appears to be new — previously, those subcategories were visible as long as their children had products. Unfortunately, I’m not sure which specific theme or WooCommerce update may have caused the change.
Could you please advise how to restore the previous behavior, or if a setting needs to be adjusted?
Thank you for your support.
