Category Carousel Based on Parent Category

When making layouts for different categories, is it possible to make a carousel that pulls from the sub categories of the parent? What I’m after is similar to the Page Title option where the categories are displayed under the page title but using a carousel. From what I can tell I’d have to manually set the categories which also means making a lot of layouts for each category/sub-category.

Please navigate to the Appearance >> Customize >> Woocommerce >> Product Catalog >> category display >> Choose “show sub categories & products”.
