marketingdigital-5837ParticipantHello,
Until recently, all category descriptions were displaying perfectly on our shop pages — including categories, subcategories, and sub-subcategories.
Each one showed its own optimized text below the product grid or below the list of subcategories, depending on the page level. The dynamic widget (Archive Description / Product Archive Description) is correctly included in our Products Archive Layout created with Elementor, and everything was working exactly as expected until a few days/weeks ago.
Now, those descriptions have completely disappeared from the frontend — they are not visible and do not appear in the page’s HTML source.
This issue is important for us because all those category descriptions were carefully written and optimized for SEO, and their absence could negatively impact our site’s organic visibility.
We have checked the following:
The correct dynamic widget is still present inside the active Products Archive Layout.
Different block positions and layouts have been tested.
Theme settings, container visibility, and cache (WP Rocket and browser) have been reviewed.
The Woodmart Core plugin has been updated, and all caches have been cleared afterwards.
Despite all these checks, the category descriptions still do not appear.
Could you please confirm if this is a known issue or if something has recently changed in how category descriptions are rendered inside custom Elementor layouts?
Thank you so much.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Please deactivate all the 3rd party plugins and activate only theme-required plugins on the site and then check the issue. I am sure your issue will be solved. Then, activate the 3rd party plugins one by one and check which plugin is creating the issue for you.
Otherwise, if the issue still exists, then keep the 3rd party plugins deactivated and let me know I will further check and give you a possible solution.

marketingdigital-5837ParticipantHello,
I have done additional testing regarding the missing category descriptions issue:
WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor and Elementor Pro are all fully updated.
I have deactivated and tested 3rd-party plugins, including WP Rocket — the issue persists even without them.
In my Products Archive Layout (Elementor + Woodmart Layout Builder), I have removed all duplicate “Archive Description” widgets and kept only one clean widget, correctly placed below the product grid.
Category, subcategory and sub-subcategory descriptions are correctly stored in WooCommerce (they appear and can be edited in the backend).
However, on the frontend no HTML is generated at all for these descriptions — nothing appears in the source code, not even hidden with CSS.
Everything was working perfectly a few weeks ago with exactly the same setup. The only recent changes were updates to Woodmart and/or Woodmart Core.
This clearly looks like a regression affecting how Woodmart handles the product_cat archive description inside the Products Archive Layout.
Please note that this issue is negatively impacting our SEO, since all those category descriptions were carefully optimized and are now missing from the frontend and search engine visibility.
Could you please investigate this on your side and let us know how to restore the correct rendering of category descriptions?
Best regards,

marketingdigital-5837ParticipantHello,
Yes, you have my permission to run tests related to plugin deactivation and activation only.
Please don’t change any theme settings, WooCommerce configuration, or general site settings. After testing, kindly make sure that everything is restored exactly as it was before — all plugins, settings, and layout.
If you identify the cause of the issue, please let me know what should be done before applying any permanent change.
Thank you very much for your help,

marketingdigital-5837ParticipantHello,
I just wanted to thank you for your support and let you know that the issue has been solved.
It turned out that the problem was caused by the Code Snippets plugin — one of the few I didn’t test earlier because I was afraid it might break some custom functions. After deactivating it, everything started working correctly again.
I really appreciate your time and help in guiding me through the troubleshooting process.Best regards.
