Category Images on Shop Page are Square Thumbnails Vs Long Rectangles

I am trying to replicate your demo layout with long category images on electronics 2 theme design. When I set all category images, even if they are long rectangles, your theme keeps defaulting them to square thumbnails so I am not sure how to resolve this. The product category settings in page show default. I have uploaded correct long rectangle sizes in category editing area, but still cropped to thumbnails. Can you help? Thank you.
