How would it be possible to change the category’s primary description font size (make it bigger)?

It’s possible with the help of the Advanced typography in Theme Settings -> Typography -> Advanced, then create there a new rule with the “Custom selector” item and paste the below selector to this rule.

.tax-product_cat .term-description

As a result, the description of the category will be changed per your needs.
