Checkout Phone Field Problem

    Hi there,

    In our checkout page the “Phone field” shows optional but we have configure in required in WC > Checkout Fields. Is there an know bug or maibe I have an incompatibility with other plugin? When you refresh the page it shows the red required asterisk but disappears and is replaced with “optional”. If we complete the checkout, the field works fine as required since it prompts us to fill it in, but this way it’s confusing.

    Hello,

    You can check this setting in Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Checkout and review the “Phone field” option there. If it is set to optional in WooCommerce > Checkout Fields, try to make it required.

    Hi there Aizaz,

    Just check on Customize and everything seems to be ok and marked “required” (see attached image). Also in Checkout fields like I told you before (check attached image).

    Hope you can check this out.

    Hello,

    Please deactivate all the 3rd party plugins and activate only theme-required plugins on the site, and then check the issue. I am sure your issue will be solved. Then, activate the 3rd party plugins one by one and check which plugin is creating the issue for you.

    Otherwise, if the issue still exists, then keep the 3rd party plugins deactivated and share the WP admin login details of your site so I can check and give you a possible solution.

    Hi there,

    Ok, the plugin that’s making noise is this one > WC – APG Campo NIF/CIF/NIE – https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/wc-apg-nifcifnie-field/ When we deactivated everyting is fine. This field it´s optional at the moment, if we make it required nothing happens.

    You know something about this bug or would you know how to solve the problem?

    Hello,

    Since the issue disappears when the WC – APG Campo NIF/CIF/NIE plugin is deactivated, the problem is most likely caused by that plugin modifying the checkout fields after the page loads.

    As this is a third-party plugin, we cannot guarantee compatibility with all checkout customizations. I recommend temporarily switching to a default WooCommerce theme (such as Storefront) and testing the checkout page. If the issue persists, please contact the plugin author, as the plugin appears to be overriding the phone field label and replacing the required indicator with “Optional”.
