I updated the theme from 7.6 to 8.0.6 but it wouldn’t load the child theme

After the update the home page was not working and it was saying error with the child theme

I added a check for the existence of the function in the child theme’s page.php and functions.php
and started working the site

If on the parent theme, you don’t have those issues that are related to the speed then it’s something with the child theme so first, enable the parent theme and check how it works.
