WebsiteDesigner987ParticipantHi there,
I have used your theme before and I bought a new license to develop a new website for me.
Please can you tell me step-by-step how to create a child theme.
Is there is a way to stop websites like https://scanwp.net/ from picking up the theme that I am using as well as the plugins. Please advise me on the best steps to do this as I want to make sure that it is done in the right way. I want to make sure that i will still be able to make updates when doing any name changes.
*Also please do not mention my website name as it indexes this page for some reason*
Thanks for you assistance. I really appreciate it.
Kind Regards.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Thank you very much for choosing our theme and for contacting us.
You can find the child theme ready in the theme folder on the ThemeForest.
Do you want to transfer your site from one site to another? Make the full backup of the site and transfer it with the help of free plugin All in one WP migration. Then activate the license on the new domain. You can activate your license twice: once for a staging platform and once for the final.
Best Regards

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
No, if it is a new site, you will have to purchase a new license. One site – one license.
Best Regards

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Deactivate the license, and disregard your site from the searching engine if you do not need this site.
You can remove everything from the host, the domain would be stopped automatically as soon as it expires and no payment has been received to prolong. The host would also stop in the same way.
Best Regards

WebsiteDesigner987Participantok, i think there is a bit of confusion.
I bought a new license for a new website which is this one.
All I would like to know is: how can i change the name of the theme?
for example: if i enter a site using the Basel theme on scanwp.net, it will pick up the theme name.
I don’t want this to happen and I would like to rename the theme.
Thanks for assisting.

WebsiteDesigner987ParticipantHi there,
Please see the screenshots. When you use a website like scanwp.net, it detects what theme a website uses. I dont want people to know what theme I am using.
Please See the attached screenshots. I want to know how I can change the theme name, author, description and theme image.
Please do not mention my website name as it will index this post.
Thanks again for assisting me.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
You can change this in the file
style.css
andscreenshot.jpg
in the root folder of the theme. Note that customizing of our theme core files may harm your website. We suggest you test this on a staging environment first.Kind Regards

WebsiteDesigner987ParticipantIf i change the information in the style.css in the child theme, would this have any issues when updating the theme?

Artem TemosKeymasterNo, but we can’t guarantee that this will not change the information on the screenshot you provided.

WebsiteDesigner987ParticipantHi Elise,
I changed the style.css file in the child theme, but it still picks up theme name – Basel.
If I were to change the style.css file of the parent theme, would this cause any issues when updating the theme and would I need to make any changes in any php files?
Thanks.

Artem TemosKeymasterWe didn’t test this case before and that is why we suggest you to check how it works on development website first. You don’t need to change any PHP files also.
