Choose which attributes to show on archive products page

Hi
in theme settings > shop > variable products, we can choose which attribute we want to show (like color)
but it doesnt work
i noticed the attribute showing is the first one on product edit > variations
like you can see on the attached picture
the first variation here is the one showing on archive products
if i drag and drop another attribute on the top (on product edit > variations) then this attribute will show on archive products
but i dont want to edit all products
how can i set which attribute has to show on product archives ?

we cannot share client admin logins
but same happens on any woodmart site we tested
so there must be a setting we did wrong
Basically on product boxes on archive products we want an attribute to show (see attached) like color
in theme settings > shop > variable products, we can choose which attribute we want to show (like color)
but it doesnt work
(see my first message for more details)

Navigate to Theme Settings > Shop > Variable Products > enable the option quick shop for variable product and choose the quick shop type on select the options click and check the issue.

yes please read above, i was saying that applying this option does not change anything
the attribute showing on archive products page is the first attribute listed on product
no matter what attribute is selected on Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products > set the as “Grid swatch attribute to display”
