abhishekotheruseemail1996ParticipantHello WoodMart Support Team,
I recently purchased the WoodMart theme for WordPress, and I have a couple of questions before I begin:
If I install and activate the theme on my local WordPress setup (localhost) for development, will I be able to reinstall and use the same license key when I migrate the site to my live domain?
Will the license remain valid after migration, or will it expire once used on localhost?
Are there any known issues, limitations, or precautions I should be aware of when migrating a site built on localhost to a live server using WoodMart?
My plan is to first design and customize the website on localhost, and then move it to the live environment once it’s ready.
Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
No worries — you can safely activate your WoodMart license on a local or staging site without affecting your main license. The license allows activation on both a live domain and a development/staging domain at the same time, as long as it’s for the same project.
When you’re ready to move your site from localhost to the live server, simply re-activate the license on your live domain. You can also check the option WoodMart > Theme License > Development domain for staging environments.

abhishekotheruseemail1996ParticipantThank you for your helpful reply. I just have a few more clarifications before I begin development and migration:
When I am ready to migrate the website from localhost to my live domain, should I first deactivate the theme license on localhost and then activate it on the live WordPress site? If yes, could you please guide me on how exactly to deactivate the license on localhost and then reactivate it on the live site?
Is there any recommended order of steps when migrating a site built with WoodMart, to ensure a smooth transition without license or functionality issues?
Are there any limits on how many times I can deactivate and reactivate the license (for example, if I change hosting or redesign the site in the future)?
After migration and reactivation, will theme updates continue to work normally on the live domain without any issues?
I appreciate your guidance on this — it will help me set up and migrate the site smoothly.
Thank you again for your support.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Before migrating, you can deactivate the theme license on your localhost by going to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License, then click Deactivate.
After your site is live, go to the same area on the live site and enter your purchase code to activate it again.
Here is the Guide about migrated process:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-move-wordpress-from-local-server-to-live-site/
There’s no strict limit on how many times you can deactivate/reactivate the license, as long as it’s for the same end project. Just remember that one license is valid for one live site (plus one staging or development site).
Once your license is active on the live site, you’ll continue receiving theme updates without any interruptions.
