    Hello,

I have completed building my e-shop using WoodMart. During this process I tried loading several dummy data. I kept the layouts for the pages I needed (after editing them where needed), 3 html blocks that I would like to keep, 3 slides etc. Then, in order to cleanup, I deleted html blocks, pages, posts, plugins and images that I don’t need.

Is there a guide or list of steps to properly cleanup after finishing working with the template demo content without breaking changes done? I mean places to look for content and manually remove if not needed from inside WordPress panel/ftp/database etc safely? For example, as seen in screenshot, there are over 170MB of dummy data and I am not sure how to properly cleanup without breaking the e-shop (do I just delete dummy-data using ftp?). While the size of dummy data is not big, it’s still dummy data not needed.

Of course, I am not talking about the “WoodMart – Prebuilt websites – Remove content” as I am aware that this will be destructive since I used and edited some of the dummy data imported.

    Thank you

    Hello,

To safely clean up your site after importing demo data, you need to manually delete the data.

Delete unused pages, posts, and HTML blocks and layouts:

Go to Pages, Posts, Layouts and HTML Blocks > manually remove any items you no longer need.

In the Media Library, switch to “List view” and sort by date to easily identify old demo images. Delete any not used on your site.

Go to Appearance > Menus and Appearance > Widgets to remove any demo items you no longer use.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. I already did that cleanup. The main question is about the 170+MB worth of dummy data (as seen in screenshot of my previous post) and maybe other dummy data anywhere else that I could clean up outside WordPress administrator panel. Will this break anything or I can safely cleanup “dummy-data” folder?

    Thank you

    Hello,

The demo import files are located under:

    /wp-content/themes/woodmart/inc/admin/modules/import/

However, this folder only contains the importer’s code files — not the actual demo content.
The real dummy data (images, pages, etc.) is now loaded remotely from Woodmart’s servers during import and isn’t stored locally inside your theme.

So there’s no local “dummy-data” folder you need to remove anymore.

The 170 MB you see on your server is most likely due to your Media Library or cache files, not leftover demo files.

    Hello,

Thank you. Media library displays only few images (~50) that I currently use.

The real dummy data (images, pages, etc.) is now loaded remotely from Woodmart’s servers during import and isn’t stored locally inside your theme.

    1. Is this a change made with the latest version? Because I had started building the e-shop on July and I see this folder under “wp-content/themes/woodmart/inc/admin/modules/import/dummy-data/” with json and xml files
    2. Is it safe to remove this folder? If yes, are there other theme folders that are not required when we no longer need dummy data?

    Hello,

You can safely delete the folder: /wp-content/themes/woodmart/inc/admin/modules/import/dummy-data/

There are no other theme folders that you should remove, as the remaining files are required for theme functionality.
