jakubsamanekParticipantHello dear support,
I set up a new attribute called “Barva” (meaning Color in Czech). I’ve added some colors there and added color to them. Now i want them to appear as those color swatches on the product detail page as well as show the variations when hovering over the product in the product grid. As you can see on the images on imgur, on hover there are no variants visible and on product page, the attribute appear as text dropdown instead of the colors. What can I do to make it work. Would you be so kind and log in to see what’s wrong with my setup? Thank you so much.

jakubsamanekParticipantI found out that it is probably because I am doing this using import. I managed to get the swatches on the detail page, but still not showing up on hover on product grid. The problem is that when I am importing I have a column named Attribute Name and then Attribute Value. How to make it use the existing attribute and not create a new one?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
You need to assign global attributes instead of custom
Manually Fix for a Single Product
1. Go to WooCommerce → Products → Edit Product
2. Find the “Attributes” section- Remove the custom attribute.
- Click “Add” under “Add Global Attribute” and select “Barva”.
- Choose the correct color values from the global attribute list.
It looks like the attributes were not assigned correctly during the CSV import. Please check if the attribute values are properly mapped in the CSV file before importing. Also, try re-saving the attributes in products > Attributes.
Please follow the WooCommerce guide and import-export the products again:

jakubsamanekParticipantHi Aizaz,
you’re right. I wasn’t importing the attributes correctly and they didn’t map to existing attributes. I managed to find the issue and it works now. I see the color swatches on the product detail page, but they are still missing when I hover over product on the product grid. I’m not sure where to find settings connected to swatches, I just chose product card design which should have the swatches, but it doesn’t. Thank you for helping me
