mr-fahrzeugveredelung.deParticipantHello,
to make my product filter as pleasant as possible for customers. (car refinement)
Is there a product filter ‘Vehicle selection’ here the customer should have 3 selection options.
I therefore need a multi-level or dependent filter.
After many searches, I have not yet been able to find a suitable way to do this. The whole thing should be a vehicle selection, i.e:
Filter 1:Brands Filter 2:Models Filter 3:Categories
= All products from the selected category for exactly this vehicle model. If the selection e.g. Audi was made in filter 1, ONLY Audi models may be displayed in filter 2.
I have already created properties and linked them in the product.
At the moment it shows the brands correctly, but in filter 2 models it takes ALL models including BMW models, Volvo models etc. which is not allowed.
I can’t find how to display this.I want to query the car brand in the first filter (a list with all car brands incl. search function for the customer), in the second filter all models of the selected brand. (There must be a dependency somewhere here).
Can you help me?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards

mr-fahrzeugveredelung.deParticipantThank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately, this is not the solution as it does not work as desired.
I would like to create a filter where the second field (model) depends on the selection in the first field (brand). In the attachment you can see my filter for a better understanding: This filter comes from the Motorcycle theme, which I have customised for myself via Elementor.I would be happy to receive support on how to implement such a filter logic.

mr-fahrzeugveredelung.deParticipantThank you very much for your answer. I have read through the whole thing. However, I use Elementor as a page builder. It looks completely different for me. Do I also need to use WPBakery?
This part: To add it to your page, you need to go to Dashboard -> HTML Blocks -> Add New and place our ‘Product Filter’ element with the WPBakery page builder. You can then populate this area with three available filters: Filter by Category, Filter by Product Attribute (choose any one) and Filter by Price. Not available for me.
I have not stored any shop filters under my HTML blocks. In my opinion, these are under Design-> Widgets. However, this looks very confusing and strange there. (Product preview not available and it often shows an error that it may not work properly.
Can you have a look at what’s going on or if everything should be like this?

mr-fahrzeugveredelung.deParticipantOK. I have recorded 3 videos for your understanding.
1. as described in the user manual, I cannot select shopfilters as HTML via Woodmart->Productarchiv-Shopfilters (here you get all html blocks but no shopfilters. I have displayed every single html block and checked this again).

mr-fahrzeugveredelung.deParticipantI cannot upload the videos, even compressed, because they are larger than 2 MB.

1. as described in the user manual, I cannot select shopfilters as HTML via Woodmart->Productarchiv-Shopfilters (here you get all html blocks but no shopfilters. I have displayed every single html block and checked this again).
See video: Recording 2024-11-06 124739 Woodmart-Productarchiv-shopfilters2. i could find the shopfilter under Design-> Widgets but it looks extremely strange here, the product preview does not work and also here a change from and to or does not bring the desired result. Here it often shows me errors and says that it is not working properly.
See video: Recording 2024-11-06 124450 Design-Widgets-shopfilters3. filter editing via Elementor and visualisation of the current function.
Here in the video you can see under the filter BRAND: 2 example brands and 3 car brands already created by me:
Alessi
Klöber
Audi
Bmw
HyundaiBut under Filter 2 Model: you can see 4 different vehicle models from different brands created by me.
4 Series F32, F33, F36 2013-2021 (Brand: BMW)
I30/ I30N 2017-2020 (Brand: Hyundai)
A5, S5, RS5 B8 2007-2016 (Brand: Audi)
A6 S6 RS6 C8 4K 2018- (Brand: Audi)Under filter 3 category: you can see the existing categories (examples and already created by me)
It should be so that if you select audi on only the brand: AUDI choose,
only Audi models are displayed, i.e. only these:
A5, S5, RS5 B8 2007-2016 (Brand: Audi)
A6 S6 RS6 C8 4K 2018- (Brand: Audi)As you can see in the video, it doesn’t matter whether I select and or or it always shows all models from all brands under Model and that shouldn’t be the case.
See video: Recording 2024-11-06 123123 Elemetor-ProductfilterI hope you understand the problem. How can I solve this?
Kind regardsNovember 7, 2024 at 3:01 pm #610524
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Unfortunately, there is no such option right now in theme settings to make dependent filters . You need to find any third-party plugin to achieve more functionality that best suits you.
