CTA Button forces to detail page even with quick shop swatches

Second product: It’s a variable product where you can chose the color. However when I choose a color and click the add to cart button (it still says “choose options”) it takes me to the detail page instead of adding it to the cart.
Addionally: When choosing a color the respective image changes BUT the height does change making the box resize.
How can I fix that?

1. Try to enable "Quick Shop" for variable products option in Theme Settings -> Shop to allow your visitor to add to cart products from the shop page.
2. Be sure that your catalog images and images uploaded for your variations have the same size and aspect ratio in general.

1. Thank you, didn’t see that option.
2. My settings in Woocommerce > Settings > Products > Appearance – * see Attachment. It’s all set to square. I then used https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ to regenerate the tumbnails with no luck. I now edited the images by hand and now it works. I wonder if the image sizes are registered globally so that the plugin can generate the thumbnails!?

Yes, these images sizes are registered globally. Maybe variations images are not resized as other single product images.
