Several of my theme settings suddenly changed, in addition to styling i placed in the custom CSS. It is all fixable, but will take time. thank G-d no customers saw the different look before we did. What is the cause of this? how often does this happen?
The styles never change by themselves. Such may happen if you configured CSS generator if you added your custom styles if you have added and activated plugins which could conflict and overwrite the styles. What were the steps you did before the styles changed? Please remove the custom CSS you have added and check.
The only change i made was installing a email tracking plugin, and then uninstalling it since it didn’t work. it should not have affected anything visual as it’s not a visual plugin.
Please check with your host support if you have any automatic backups of your site so that you could restore the site as it was and watch the issue for some time.
