Hi Team,
We are currently working on a live website that uses the WoodMart theme, and we noticed that the theme includes dummy import content located at the following path:
wp-content/themes/woodmart/inc/admin/modules/import/dummy-data
We would like your official guidance on whether it is safe to remove this dummy import data from the theme files once the website is live and fully configured.
Our questions:
Can the dummy import data be safely deleted after the initial setup?
Will deleting this folder or its contents have any impact on:
Existing pages, products, or theme settings?
Theme updates or future demo imports?
Any WoodMart core functionality or admin features?
Our observations / concerns:
The dummy content appears to be identical across multiple WoodMart-based websites.
The demo data is no longer required after site launch and may cause confusion for future admins.
We want to avoid any risks related to:
Theme updates overwriting changes
Missing dependencies or broken import features
Conflicts during future maintenance
Before proceeding, we want to ensure we are following WoodMart-recommended best practices and not taking an approach that could cause issues during updates or support.
Please let us know:
The recommended way to remove or disable demo/dummy import content
Any limitations or cons of removing it
If keeping it is mandatory, what precautions we should take instead
Looking forward to your guidance.
Thanks,
Mayank Suthar
