Editing Widget Area not Saving

Hello

I am trying to edit the footer and I am editing the widget area to get that done. However, whenever I try to save changes, it shows “Invalid JSON response error”. This error is only happening in the widgets editing section and not where else in the website.

I have attached a screenshot of the error message, please check and advise a solution.

Please try installing the Classic Widgets plugin.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/

And then re-add the widget and check back.
