Editor "There are 4 errors which must be fixed before you can update this file"

Need to make changes via Appearance —> Editor but getting the error message:
“There are 4 errors which must be fixed before you can update this file.”

So I am unable to make and save my edits until those 4 errors are corrected..

Can you please advise as to how to proceed?

Hello,

When you edit files you would better change them in an editor (notepad ++ or sublime or any you like) and upload them via FTP. You will avoid errors and if any you will be able to get back to the previous edition.

We cannot guess where these errors are, just take the initial file, make modification and try to upload via FTP.

What troubles me is that I did not made any changes to the initial codes the theme came with since I purchased it. The initial codes the theme came with are the ones that are still there so far which is why I was surprised to receive that notification.

As for my updates, I will use Sublime Text and proceed through FTP.

Before you modify any files save backups so that you could replace damaged file with initial one via FTP
