Elementor not saving work

I wanted to try to use Elementor for page building since you mentioned it was available for use but I’ve been having trouble.
When I edit a new page and view the page the updated edited content is there. However, when I “Edit with Elementor” it kicks me to a 404 error.
Therefore, none of the pages I have made were able to correctly save and I’ve lost all my progress. Any suggestions on how to not have this happen?
Am I able to use Elementor at all? It seems like it should work but for some reason it’s not.

Navigate to Settings > Permalinks > Set the permalink to plain.

Hmmm…I’ve never had to do that with any other theme. I’d prefer post-name but that didn’t work. Plain didn’t work either.
Very weird behavior.

Switch the front-end editor loader method worked. I even could use post-name for permalinks.
