To clarify this point:
In Loco Translate, “French (fr_FR)” is already the correct French language. The four languages you see (French, German, Italian, Spanish) are theme interface translations, not page content translations.
Important clarification about Loco Translate:
- Loco Translate does not translate pages or content
- It only translates static text strings coming from the theme or plugins (buttons, labels, messages, headings like “Not Found”, “My Account”, etc.)
- It always works from the original language of the theme (English) → into another language
- It cannot reverse-translate existing French pages into English
That is why you are seeing:
“Translation from English to French”
This is expected behavior and cannot be reversed in Loco Translate.
Why your 404 page is in French:
- The Woodmart theme’s French language file (fr_FR) is active
- The text “NON TROUVÉ” and related messages come from the theme’s translation strings
- These can be edited in Loco Translate → Woodmart → French (fr_FR) if you want to change wording
