kenny-6412ParticipantChristmas2 layout and Single Product Layout
Editing layout using Layouts -> Single product layout -> click edit button.
1. I get a blank screen.
2. If I try edit with Elementor button within Layouts I get error msg (see image).(As a test I created a new layout from presets and was able to edit that one)
I have seen many questions about this and hope following correct procedure.Q. Can you advise what is happening here OR sorry about it but am I one of the many getting it wrong ?
Thx Kenny.

kenny-6412ParticipantHi Aizaz.
I thought the problem was solved by duplicating the original layout then edit the duplicate.
I rename the original with ‘-bak’ extension and the duplicate to original name.Unsure if this is the correct way or if the site has a problem?
This problem was also with Single and Product Archive pages. It has worked and I can now edit the page
HOWEVER the 2nd time to edit my new page I got same message with error msg (the image attached before) !.thx Kenny.

July 15, 2026 at 12:41 pm #723789Hello,
The error message “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page” usually appears when Elementor is unable to detect the required content area in the layout.
Since you mentioned that duplicating the layout temporarily fixed the issue but the same problem appeared again, it looks like the original Layout may have some corrupted data or an issue with the template structure.
Please try the following steps:
1. Navigate to Layouts > Single Product Layout.
2. Open the affected layout and make sure it contains the required Product Content / WooCommerce elements.
3. Try editing the layout with Elementor again.
4. Also, go to Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS & Data and clear your cache. If the issue continues, please share your website WP Admin access in the Private Content field so we can check the layout structure and Elementor settings directly.
Best Regards
