Error when adding categories to single product sidebar

When I add the categoreis widget (with parent categories only selected, under “You May Also Like” in the single product side bar I get the following error at the bottom of the page:
There was an error. null is not an object (evaluating ‘(await(0,Cc.default)
({path:”/batch/v1″,method:”OPTIONS”})).endpoints’)
I am not sure why the built in widget would not work. This is a new site that I just stated building and is not yet live.

So there is no official fix for this other to install a plugin that ended in 2024? If I install this will it mess with anything else in the template?

No, installing the Classic Widgets plugin is only to determine whether the issue is related to the block-based Widgets screen. It should not affect your theme layout.
If you prefer not to install it, please try the following instead:
– Navigate to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes.
– Temporarily disable any security plugins and test again.
– If the issue persists, deactivate all third-party plugins except WooCommerce, WoodMart Core, and Elementor.
– If the problem still occurs, switch to a default WordPress theme to check whether the issue is related to our theme or not.
