Extend search: To search taxonomies, tags, and other meta-data.

Hey there, I was wondering if its possible to extend the standard search function to search other metadata within posts and woocommerce products. As on its own wordpress only searches the post title. It will not search the content and tags of posts.

Is it possible add this to be able to search post content, tags and other metadata such as the additional information section on woocommerce products.

I have tried to extend the functionality of this by adding some code to the functions file but as yet I have not been able to get it to work.

Unfortunately, there is no any easy way to change WooCommerce search algorithm. To achieve this you need to customize PHP files and change product search queries. If you need some information about files containing our search forms or actions give us know and we will provide you the list.

1. File with AJAX action /inc/classes/Search.php

2. File with search forms /inc/template-tags.php

3. With JS handlers /js/functions.js
