beachybotikiParticipantHello,
I have been adding new products to my WordPress site https://beachybotiki.com and it has been working fine until about half an hour ago. When I click on Products in my dashboard, I am getting this fatal error message
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8388616 bytes) in /home1/wahpt40aeuzo/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 2516”
I called my hosting provider and they advised me to contact the theme author. Please help if you can.
Thank you!Attachments:

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
It is strange your host provider redirected you to the theme. This error usually occurs when you have exceeded the memory limit on your host.
Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress theme like twentysixteen to understand is it our theme issue or not?
Best Regards

beachybotikiParticipantHello,
My hosting provider has increased my limit to 256, the maximum allowable. After going through 6 hours of image compression last night, uninstalling several plugins, and calling the hosting provider again today, I finally changed the theme to see if it would repair the problem. I installed the free versions of Max Store and Web Store WordPress themes, and now I can see all of my products, with no error. I really hate to have to redesign my entire website with a free theme, and now my site looks terribly broken if a visitor comes. Please see if you can help.
Thank you.August 18, 2018 at 7:22 pm #73206
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Now Max Store is active on your site. Please activate Woodmart and check your products. They should work. As soon as you activate our theme your site would be back.
Best Regards

beachybotikiParticipantI have just now reactivated Woodmart’s Child theme on my site, and now I get the fatal error message again. I am attaching the screen shot of the newest error message. When in the dashboard, click on Products > All Products and that’s when the Fatal Error shows up. It does not do that with the Max Store theme, and it was working fine on Woodmart for the past 3 weeks until last night.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Could you please disable all plugins that are not related to our theme and check again? Also, provide us your FTP access if it will not help.
Regards

beachybotikiParticipantI have already disabled all plugins last night and earlier again today, and it does not help the issue at all.
Click on the blue HOSTING tab to see the beachybotiki.com WordPress area, then click the gear icon next to that to find the Manage FTP section.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
We just tested your products interface again and don’t see any PHP errors https://gyazo.com/c6f8f68fb1e456c5bd0854310d1f2ee4
What did you change to fix this?
And we need your FTP access, not your hosting control panel. Please, create an FTP for us.Thank you in advance.

beachybotikiParticipantHello!
I was not able to view my products at all with the Woodmart or its Child theme activated, so while I had the free theme running, I removed nearly 1,100 products. Then I removed all of the images associated with those products. After that, I reactivated the Woodmart Child theme and everything has been running smoothly since then. I have decided on a different method to display the artwork that will be on my products by using pages instead of products since that seems to bog the site down for some reason. I have nearly 6,000 products to add, so at this point I really don’t know what else to do about it. As far as creating an FTP for you, I have no idea how to do that. I have never worked in the back end of WordPress that way, and do the best that I can working to make the site look the way that I want it to with your beautiful theme. I’m sorry that I can’t help with the FTP issue. If I knew how to do that, I would gladly help. Thank you for everything.August 19, 2018 at 8:44 am #73244
Artem TemosKeymasterHi,
Actually, they should work correctly and we will try to create an FTP access and check what is wrong. Contact us when you will have more products and this problem appear again.

beachybotikiParticipantThank you so much! I really appreciate that offer to help.
I thought that a workaround might be to create pages with the images that can be chosen to be printed on the products that I have listed now. Someone explained to me Friday night that when I upload one image to a product, somehow WordPress or the theme itself creates 7 different sizes of that image which ends up using all of the memory allowed. I had around 1,136 products when the error occurred that wouldn’t let me even see the products I already had. Since I knew I eventually would have almost 6,000 art designs to add as products, I needed to find a workaround.
I have bought several themes over the past year, but I really LOVE Woodmart, and your customer support is by far the best experience that I have had with a theme author. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated. Have a terrific day!

Artem TemosKeymasterThank you for your kind words 🙂
Yes, WordPress generates a few thumbnails for each image you upload to media and no matter what you upload them to products or pages. The result is the same. But actually, this PHP fatal error is not caused by that. It is some different problem. It is related to RAM, not to your disc space.

beachybotikiParticipantHey There!
I was able to get a tech support person to set up the FTP that you requested. Here is that information, to maybe help resolve the issue that I experienced.
I would rather list my artwork as products as opposed to putting the art thumbnails on pages, so if there’s something that can be done on your end to make that possible, I would be thrilled.
Thanks again!

gueshuParticipantPut your ftp info in private quickly… Really not safe to share that in an open forum.

beachybotikiParticipantOkay, it’s in the private section. Can you delete the previous open message, please?

Artem TemosKeymasterHi,
We have edited that message.
Please, add all products firstly so we can see that PHP error to be able to find a solution. Also, the FTP seems to be wrong because we can’t connect https://gyazo.com/e7e7e9db298b40a343a23c83699f93a9Regards
