seeratParticipantHi,
I have 2 categories, Tanjore paintings and Materials.
I have 2 attributes Painting subject and Painting Size. These 2 attributes are not relevant to the materials category. So on the materials page, the filters are empty; but the filter button is present. https://snag.gy/efqkn6.jpg
So I tried to add the category name in the Filter by Atrrtibute element. Even then, the empty filter with the filter button is shown on the Materials Category..

seeratParticipantHi,
On the basel filter demo I’m able to select multiple attributes for the option before clicking on filter. And the dropdown stays open But I’m able to select only one and the new one replaces the old one each time and multiple select is not happening. The dropdown closes each time I make a selection. Is there a setting I should choose specifically for this? Can’t seem to find this on theme settings..

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You need to add the attributes to products from Material Category to have the filter option.

seeratParticipantThe products in the material category will not have these attributes..So the filters for these attributes are not displayed. This is correct because these filters are not needed here.
But there is empty filter area with a filter button even when there are no filters to be applied.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
That is the way WooCommerce filter works
Try to add the attribute to the products for testing.

seeratParticipantIf the products have attributes, then it works great..
My point is that I do not want the Empty Basel Filter Area to be displayed for the category when the products don’t have the attributes..

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
WooCommerce works in this way and our theme does not influence that. You can set different configuration for different categories.

seeratParticipantI have added the Basel filter wp-bakery element as html block and then used it instead of the widget filter. Please have a look at the screenshot – https://snag.gy/efqkn6.jpg
It’s the Basel filter element that is working this way. The default widgets style works correctly.

seeratParticipantHi,
Please let me know about this. This is a valid scenario in my case. Please let me know if you would like more information on this from me.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
The filter will work with variable products, which has various attributes to filter. If you have not variable products. The filter has nothing to filter.
Here is the documentation on the filter: https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/faq-guides-2/how-to-create-filters-form/
Here is demo for filters: https://demo.xtemos.com/basel/product-filters/
You can use default Woocommerce filters.

seeratParticipantYes exactly, the filters have nothing to filter and I do not want any filters on the materials category page.
So why is the filter button and empty area appearing?

Please check my website to see what I’m referring to(details below). Please click on shop and take a look at categories Tanjore paintings and materials.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You have set the filter http://prntscr.com/l7tkt5 so it will be shown on all the categories. You can remove the filter and it will be removed from all the categories. There is no option to show filter on one category and hide on other.
Best Regards
