Filters are not applying on variations

i am using variation as a product for my shop. it displays correctly on the shop page and category page. However when we apply the filters. it doesn’t show the variations as a single product. it only shows the variation parent to select the variation from.
i have tried to hide the parent product and then it doesn’t show any variation products after applying filters.
in this haldiram aloo bhujia with image uploaded are variable products and haldiram aloo ka bhujia are simple products.
i am doing a few tests as I need to upload almost 2000 products.
even the count on the side bar for brand and size only counts the simple product.
