Forma correcta de actualizar tema wordpres 8.3.3

Estimados, existe algún paso a paso para alguien que no tiene mucho conocimiento para actualizar de forma correcta y no perder información de la web en funcionamiento ? no entiendo mucho de actualizar en el tema hijo, tampoco se si estoy utilizando o no ese tema en wordpress ayuda

You can safely update the theme automatically or manually; both methods will not delete your website content, images, or structure. However, we always recommend creating a full backup of your site before proceeding with any updates, just to be extra safe.
You can update it to the latest version by going to Appearance > Themes or you can download the most recent WoodMart version from your ThemeForest account.
