Hello, can you please give some advice.

Our website, randomly, looses formatting. For ten mins here and there. Then it will be fine again without interference from us.

Pages that we have not edited or touched in days / weeks, will randomly not display correctly, or display the mobile version on the desktop etc. For example, last week it appeared our homepage was not displaying the CSS we have applied to the site to determine some formatting.

What can we do to overcome this and ensure that the website is always acting as it should when it is live and not being edited?

Today I launched a brand new product layout, and my manger viewed it to check the work, and was displayed the page in a completely incorrect way, while it was fine on a private browser on my own PC. How can we explain this and prevent it from happening?

    Hello,

The issue you’re experiencing, where your website randomly loses formatting or displays the mobile layout on a desktop, is often related to caching. This can come from browser cache, website/server-level caching plugins, or even a CDN.

When updates are made or new layouts are launched, these caches may still serve old or incomplete CSS and JS files, leading to inconsistent display across devices or users. To avoid this, always clear your website, browser, and CDN caches after making changes.

If the problem continues, try disabling the cache temporarily for testing. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.

    thank you for your reply.

Is this still the case when pages are changing format, when they have not been edited?

We have found our homepage, and other specific pages have been formatting in a bizarre way, when editing completely unrelated pages of the website?

Another question. I am going to speed optimizer, and manually purging the cache, then checking the changes in another browser. Is this what you mean by clearing the cache? Is there something else I should be doing?

    Many thanks,

    Hello,

Could you please record a short video and describe how we can reproduce the issue on your website so we can check this for you?

Also, share the wp-login details so I will further check the issue on your site.

    Best Regards,

    hello,

there is no way to reproduce the issues.

When we notice that the page is randomly not showing correctly, sometime it clears when we clear the cache, sometimes it does not. Sometimes it corrects itself in ten minutes randomly.

As I say, these aren’t pages that we have edited and they are THEN displaying incorrectly. It has always been random pages showing strangely all of a sudden.

I will attached the log in details below incase you would look at the site for alternative issues.

    Hello,

I’ve checked your site, and everything is displaying correctly at the moment. The issue you described is most likely related to cache conflicts or delays between your cache plugin, server cache, or CDN.

Yes, purging the cache via Speed Optimizer is the correct step — just make sure to also clear browser and CDN (if used) caches. After making changes, please test the site in incognito/private mode to avoid cached content.

Let me know if the issue appears again.

    Hi Aizaz,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I will make sure to do this and hopefully no issues arise. What is CDN? How do I check if this is something I am using?

    #648855

    Hello,

To check if you’re using a CDN, you can:

    1. Look in your hosting dashboard – many hosts (like Cloudways, SiteGround, or Bluehost) offer built-in CDN options.

    2. Check if you’re using services like Cloudflare or Jetpack – these are popular CDNs.

    3. If you’re using a performance or cache plugin check their settings — they often have CDN options built-in.

    Hello,

You’re welcome! I’m glad you found it. If the issue persists after clearing your site and browser cache, it might also be worth checking if you’re using a CDN (Content Delivery Network) like Cloudflare or similar. These services often cache your site content as well.

If you are using a CDN, be sure to purge the CDN cache, too.

    Best Regards.
