    Hi there,

In woodmart settings I use 5 different font weights of the Lato/Poppins fonts, so 5 font files have to load on each page load. On some shop pages that is accounting for 20% of the load time (as they have to be loaded from Google).

I want to reduce those 5 font styles to just 3. However on 1-2 pages I will still need to load another font weight. If I load a different font weight on one particular page (through the WP Bakery page builder), will that additional font weight just load on that page, or on all pages on the website?

I have gone ahead and limited the font variations to 3 rather than 5 which has helped, but only slightly (so you can ignore post above).

However when looking at page load speed, the woodmart font is actually holding up other elements on the page from loading and contributes quite a lot to the page load blocking time (until largest contentful paint).

Please see the screenshot attached showing this. Is there any way to prevent this woodmart font file from delaying the page load? For example is it possible to preload it somehow with WP Rocket or do you have any other ideas?

    Hello,

Try to enable the “Swap” option for the icons font set as shown on the screenshot https://monosnap.com/file/t0iWqnF8L1u048uhwuMHE2dlDecBrk

    Kind Regards

Thanks for your advice. Can you please look at the screenshot attached? You can see that the google fonts in general contribute to blocking time.

In your opinion should we also select “swap” for “font-display for Google Fonts”?

Yes, you can try to set “Swap” for Google fonts as well.

Interestingly it does not seem to change the blocking time associated with those google fonts / icons…

We don’t see any problems with the fonts https://gyazo.com/26e557ab01eb6fb7cc0ee6f2e1372990
Of course, they have some render-blocking effect anyway. But they don’t make your website slow.
