Grid switcher settings ignored (List view works, but grid stuck on 3/

Hello,
I am using the WoodMart theme (demo feshion 2) on my WooCommerce store. The store is not live yet, but the following issue is also on your demo-page:

I am having a specific issue with the product grid layout settings on my shop page:
Inside Theme Settings > Product archive > Products grid, I can successfully enable/disable the “List view” option, and it reflects correctly on the frontend shop page. However, all grid column configurations are completely ignored.

I have configured the switcher to only allow 2, 4, and 6 columns as a test, but the frontend completely ignores this and stubbornly displays 3 and 5 columns instead. It does however start with 4 column layout as I put in the settings, but then if I click 3 or 5 icon the 4-icon never shows up so as a visitor I cannot switch back to 4.

Furthermore, it seems like the “4 columns” icon is entirely missing from the switcher options on the frontend in the demopage aswell.

My setup:
This is a standard WoodMart shop page (not built with Elementor), but Elementor is active on the site.
Since the “List view” setting works perfectly from the same settings page, it seems like the database saves the data, but something is blocking or overriding the specific Grid column layout generation.

Could you please help me find why the grid column settings are being ignored while the list setting works? As it is the same problem in demopage, you can just look at that site (mine is not yet live).

Thanks for the detailed report.

It is not entirely clear what issue you are seeing on our Fashion 2 demo. The URL you provided displays the products in four columns correctly. Switching between the available 3-, and 5-column views also works correctly on our side.

The problem is that there is no icons other than 3 or 5 (as in your video). No matter what settings I put in theme settings (if I put to show 2,4,6 or 3,4,5 etc. for the grid – there is always just those two icons for 3 and 5 showing on the page. I want to be able to switch back to 4 – but as you can see on your video it is not possible even in the demo I sent.

The issue is there even without changing any settings – it was per default put at show 4 as default (which i want) and then 3, 4,5 was per default put as switches. But it only shows 3 and 5 no matter what the settings for the grid are.

Hi there,

The Fashion 2 demo uses its own predefined configuration, so not all grid column options are available in that specific demo.

We have checked this functionality locally, and the grid switcher settings work correctly — the selected column options are displayed on the shop page as configured:

Okey, so how do I get this feature in fashion 2 demo? Or how should I solve the issue? Since it starts with 4 colums per default I obviously want it to be able to go back to default with the icons…

But obviously I want everything else to look like fashion 2 demo, its why I bought this theme, so It would just be preferable if the demo had a fix in the bug i guess….! 🙂 How do I fix an icon that goes back to 4 columns?

Thanks for the clarification. We are still unable to reproduce this behavior, as the grid switcher works correctly in our local tests with both the Fashion 2 demo and other demos.

This may be caused by an incorrect configuration or a conflict with a third-party plugin on your website. Please provide temporary WordPress admin access via the forum’s Private Content field so we can inspect the current settings and identify what may be overriding the grid switcher options.

Ok I solved it myself! 🙂
I had to go to Layouts > and then edit the one called “Products archive layout Fashion-2” in Elementor then I could change the settings there! I guess it overwrote the theme settings.

Yes, that is correct. When a Product Archive Layout is assigned, most shop-page settings, including the grid switcher options, are configured directly in that layout rather than in the global Theme Settings.

I should have mentioned this earlier, but I am glad you were able to identify the Product Archive Layout for the Fashion 2 demo and adjust the settings there.
