How can I let just the icon for search and search result to be in 2 column, not in 1 like it is now.

Due to the width the search results are shown in one column. Try to add the only search element in the middle columns and check the issue.
For the search icon, Edit the Header of the site which you are using >> then edit the search form and in the style tab choose the icon or upload your own icon.
