The older way was so much easier and less confusing

Please deactivate all the plugin not related to the theme and check again. Header builder is more flexible you will configure it once and would not have any problems.

I think the issue is it needs update ing this my normal issuebut the theme wont let me upodate
this theme is not working I cant do anything cant even edit the home page

If you need to correct the width of rows, you can do it in the row settings https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/header-builder/header-rows-flex-layouts/
Then you add and configure the elements as per your needs https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/header-builder/header-rows-flex-layouts/
