how to create sidebar for portfolio page —project files

Hi, I am using the default portifolio page, I need the sidebar with project category showed as product archive page, how to manage it? could you show the step by step instructions ? thanks very much.

Yes, I understand to choose the unique sidebar for the page of portfolio, —- my problem is how to define the porfolio sidebar, I tried to edit the appearance –> widget –> portfolio widget area , couldn’t fine the correct widget with project category ( all are product or post category).
Could you let me know how to have the sidebar with project category included?

Hello,
Navigate to Appearance > Menus > Create a new menu and add only the project categories you want to display: https://ibb.co/NgRxKWLH
Then go to Appearance > Widgets > Add the “Navigation Menu” widget to the sidebar area > Choose the menu you just created.
This allows you full control over the categories are shown in the sidebar.
