how to define left side menu?

I’ve created few menu. how to assign some menu to left side column.

(I understand it about top-horiz. menu, but can not find about left)

but where left top? may be plugin needed?

Choose the proper header type (your current) http://prntscr.com/iyd333

Add the category element and chose the menu you have created from the drop-down list: http://prntscr.com/iyd3h3
