how to improve page loading time and PHP performance?

Hi,

I know the cache plugin will help , but I am talking about the case without cache plugin

it’s not about the pagespeed score , but the PHP script performance

if I use storefront theme , the category page and product loads in average 200 – 300 ms TTFB

if I use woodmart theme , it takes like 1.2 – 1.5 seconds TTFB to load

I have eliminated as much elements as I could on the page , only display the essential info like product list

yet it is still kind of slow , just wondering if there is any way to speed up ?

the server s running on a dedicated server of Ryzen 5 5800X CPU , so hardware performance should be good enough , the site is under dev , only woodmart (child) theme, classic widget , classic editor , woodmart core + rev silder + contact form 7 + wp bakery installed , with PHP 8.1

Could you please disable all plugins that are not related to our theme and provide us your admin access so we can check it? We will compare the server response time between WoodMart and Storefront.

thanks for getting back to me , login link provided

the PHP setting should be identificar on both sites , also provided phpinfo page just in case

on woodmart site , visiting homepage as admin login user , it averages 1.1 – 1.2 seconds , the home page , probably due to too many elements in it , but I can’t really make/use a blank homepage either…

product page takes like 0.9 – 1 seconds

on storefront site , it’s about 0.4 seconds or so

the storefront site is doing thumbnail regeneration , you may need to cancel that task from wp-admin when do compare

I understand the theme is much more feature-rich and that could cost some performance

but I would like to squeeze it to be less than 1 seconds , 0.8 second if possible

Yes, we see this difference on your website but as you noted, when you test with Storefront you see an almost empty page. If you remove most of the elements in our theme’s header and footer the loading time will be approximately the same. But of course, it might be a bit higher because of still mush more functions loaded on one page even if you don’t see them.
