Is it in template—Theme builder?
I am trying to create a template with a sidebar, how do I accomplish that?
If the default module can be modified and I can not bother to create it, please tell me how to change the SINGLE POST setting?

Navigate to Theme Settings > Blog > Single Post > and there few options to change layout.
If you want to customize layouts, You need to find a third party plugin to achieve more functionality that best suits you.
